Founded in 2010, Alterarea EAF became the first Financial Advisory Firm (EAF) in Galicia.
As an EAF, it is subject to strict supervision and transparency controls in compliance with the Securities Market Law, which regulates these entities with the aim of professionalizing and strengthening financial advisory services.
Alterarea is registered and supervised by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) under registration number 37.
Since 2016, it has held a European Passport, allowing it to advise on any investment vehicle within the European Union.
In December 2017, the company underwent a shareholding restructuring to focus exclusively on institutional clients.
With over 30 years of experience, he began his career as the Investment Director of his family office, leading investments in private equity and renewable energy projects in South America, a role he continues to this day.
In 1997, he promoted the creation of the “Rainbow Emerging Markets” fund as an investment vehicle for his clients and family group. Expanding on this initiative, in 2004, he launched a second fund, the “Rainbow Balanced Portfolio”.
In 1987, he completed his education with a Master’s in Computer Science from the University of Belfast. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Bradford.
Álvaro has been Chief Economist at Amchor Investment Strategies since 2013 and previously worked as a Partner in the Advisory division of KPMG Spain.
During his time in public administration (Álvaro is a State Economist), he held key positions, including Director General for Macroeconomic Analysis and International Economics at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. In this role, he led a team of over 80 professionals, overseeing macroeconomic forecasting and managing the Ministry’s relations with the EU (Ecofin, Eurogroup, European Commission, ECB) and international financial institutions such as the IMF, EBRD, and EIB. Álvaro has also served on the boards of directors of several public and public-private companies.
He holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from CUNEF and ranked first in his class in the State Economist entrance exams.
Fund manager with over 18 years of experience in the financial sector. He has managed SICAVs and investment funds, including both multi-asset and euro-denominated equity portfolios.
Previously, he worked at Amchor SGIIC, SA from 2013 until joining Alterarea EAF, SL. He began his career at this investment management firm as an equity specialist, later taking on bottom-up selection of equity and fixed-income assets, as well as serving as risk control manager for the Alinea Global fund and conducting performance attribution analysis. Additionally, he was a product specialist for the other funds.
He has prior experience at other financial institutions, including Inversis Gestión SGIIC and Banco Santander.
Julián holds a degree in Business Administration and Management from CUNEF.
Investment analyst with over three years of experience in the financial sector, specializing in the evaluation of equity market opportunities and the development of new investment strategies.
Previously, he worked at RBC Brewin Dolphin in the financial crime division, where he investigated and reported financial risks related to money laundering, market manipulation, and other compliance matters. His experience also includes roles at Andbank, where he worked as a portfolio management analyst in Luxembourg, contributing to the administration of UCITS funds with €1.5 billion in assets under management.
He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath, graduating with First Class honours. He earned his CFA certification at the age of 22 and later completed a Master’s in Finance at the London School of Economics in 2023.
With over 20 years of experience in the financial sector, Beatriz has specialized in regulatory compliance and back-office operations, roles she has been performing at Alterarea EAF since its inception.
She holds a degree in Political Science and Administration from the University of Santiago de Compostela and completed a Master’s in Financial and Tax Administration in 2002.
Beatriz has been a member of EFPA Spain (EFA certification) since 2012.
With over 10 years of experience, he has been involved in real estate, renewable energy, and asset management projects within the family business. He has been part of Alterarea EAF since 2017.
He has worked in Madrid, Munich, and New York as part of his training.
He has been a member of the EFPA Spain Association (EIP) since 2017. In 2014, he participated in an Executive Program on Family Wealth Management at the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles (IEB) and a Tax Planning Program at the Centro de Estudios Financieros (CEF).
He holds a degree in International Business Administration and Management with two languages (EBS) from Centro Universitario Villanueva.
