Founded in 2010, Alterarea EAF became the first Financial Advisory Firm (EAF) in Galicia.<\/p>

As an EAF, it is subject to strict supervision and transparency controls in compliance with the Securities Market Law, which regulates these entities with the aim of professionalizing and strengthening financial advisory services.<\/p>

Alterarea is registered and supervised by the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) under registration number 37.<\/p>

Since 2016, it has held a European Passport, allowing it to advise on any investment vehicle within the European Union.<\/p>

In December 2017, the company underwent a shareholding restructuring to focus exclusively on institutional clients.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

    In 1997, he promoted the creation of the “Rainbow Emerging Markets” fund as an investment vehicle for his clients and family group. Expanding on this initiative, in 2004, he launched a second fund, the “Rainbow Balanced Portfolio”.<\/p>

    In 1987, he completed his education with a Master\u2019s in Computer Science from the University of Belfast.     During his time in public administration (\u00c1lvaro is a State Economist), he held key positions, including Director General for Macroeconomic Analysis and International Economics at the Ministry of Economy and Finance. In this role, he led a team of over 80 professionals, overseeing macroeconomic forecasting and managing the Ministry\u2019s relations with the EU (Ecofin, Eurogroup, European Commission, ECB) and international financial institutions such as the IMF, EBRD, and EIB. \u00c1lvaro has also served on the boards of directors of several public and public-private companies.<\/p>

    Previously, he worked at Amchor SGIIC, SA from 2013 until joining Alterarea EAF, SL. He began his career at this investment management firm as an equity specialist, later taking on bottom-up selection of equity and fixed-income assets, as well as serving as risk control manager for the Alinea Global fund and conducting performance attribution analysis. Additionally, he was a product specialist for the other funds.<\/p>

    He has prior experience at other financial institutions, including Inversis Gesti\u00f3n SGIIC and Banco Santander.<\/p>

    Previously, he worked at RBC Brewin Dolphin in the financial crime division, where he investigated and reported financial risks related to money laundering, market manipulation, and other compliance matters. His experience also includes roles at Andbank, where he worked as a portfolio management analyst in Luxembourg, contributing to the administration of UCITS funds with \u20ac1.5 billion in assets under management.<\/p>

    He holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath, graduating with First Class honours.
